She is a Roundy!

Jaelyn hasn't been to preschool for 2 wks because her teacher has been out of town. We were talking in the car last night and I reminded Jaelyn that she was going back to school tomorrow. Her quick response shocked me, yet reminded me of her bloodline. She instantly said, "I feel really, really sick." ( She doesn't have 1 symptom of being sick). Roger was even shocked. He kept asking her where she had heard that or learned that. After a mini-quiz by Rog, I told him that it wasn't learned, it was in her DNA. Roger and his siblings are famous for their number of sick days and fake illnesses. Roger's mom is a lot nicer than me, so we will see how far Jaelyn can get with her acting skills. She did go to school today. Mom-1, Jaelyn-0

Like Mother???

I need to start writing little funny or otherwise interesting episodes with my kids down. I feel like I am getting early Alzheimer's because if I don't write myself a note, it doesn't get done and if I don't write something on my shopping list it doesn't get bought. Roger also thinks I am crazy because I don't have memories of certain things he thinks I should remember from throughout our lives. Here goes....
Jaelyn has started to think that she is the boss. She is constantly questioning my decisions and reasoning of why we do things, although she rarely uses the word, 'why' (which I am grateful for). We were in Macey's last night, checking out.
The bagger girl asked if I wanted, 'paper or plastic'.
"Paper is just fine, thanks", was my response. To which Jaelyn responded with an angry/whiney voice, "Mom, I want paper".
The topic of conversation doesn't really seem to matter, Jaelyn just wants to be in charge of it's outcome. I really can't wait to have a teenager!!
