The Holidays......

Happy New Year!!!! Our kids didn't have a clue that they were celebrating at 8pm. (As you can see this post was done at 10pm.) My kids are never in bed this early, odd that is happens on New Years Eve. We watched the ball drop from a 2008 'you tube' video. Aren't we sneaky? :) After pounding on pans and popping and few poppers, they were in bed by 8:30. No, we aren't total grinches, they were completely exhausted since we skied all morning and went to the Princess and the Frog in the afternoon.
Jaelyn and Mackay loved this new conveyor belt (we call the magic carpet) they just
put in at the B. It is pretty neat, but in the stupidest place.
We had a good Christmas. Santa took good care of the kiddos.
Grandma made these cute night gowns for the girls.

Check out this cute baby girl. We are having so much fun with her. She is such a sweet heart!
She loved the wrapping paper on Christmas day, and now we know
why she sleeps so good at night;)

Here's to 2010!!!

Deja nevar, deja nevar, deja nevar!

Translation: Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! (I guess:) We had the snowmobile out too, but no photos of that. What a fun snowy weekend. We can't wait for the beav to open. Glad we bought passes last season, phew!

Happy Halloween!

Trick or Treating

Carving the Pumpkins - Fun for all. Right, Rog?

Mackay's preschool Halloween parade and program was so fun.
He loves to sing and reminded us a lot of his sister.

We also went to the carnival at the elementary school. It was so fun. They had all sorts of activities - a cake walk, fortune telling, blow up toys, pizza and a haunted forest. We had a great time.

All in all a successful Halloween. Phew!

Pics of our little darlin'

I can't believe it has been a month. We have been having so much fun with our new girl.

Mackay is an awesome big brother. He doesn't like to be called a big brother, he says, "I'm Mackay." He seems to enjoy his new job which is 'diaper duty' (putting the diaper in the garabage can). He hasn't complained yet. We will see how long it lasts.

We were driving along in the car one day. Karlee was screaming. Jae said, "I love Karlee. I love everything about her. Even when she cries". Jaelyn is smitten, as are the rest of us.
This is how she really felt about the photo shoot.

Party of Five

Well, we have had some fun filled days since bringing Karlee home. Jaelyn and Mackay having fun, Mommy and Daddy protecting Karlee and Karlee playing dead as a form of self-preservation. We have really enjoyed the past few days. Karlee has been on that bad schedule of sleeping all day and then about 10pm when the kids are finally asleep, she wakes up and stays awake for hours - little stinker. She loves to pee when we take her diaper off - little stinker. And she loves to sleep and eat at the same time (if you know what I mean) - little stinker. I think her middle name should be 'little stinker', but we decided not to give her a middle name, so it will just have to be a nickname. Jaelyn is in heaven. We came home on Wednesday, and by the time Jaelyn went to be she had tried every headbad we own on Karlee as well as most every outfit. I felt like I had run a marathon by the time I finally went to bed. Mackay was so cute when he first saw his sister, he watched her for a minute and said, "Daddy, she is moving". He doesn't know what to think about the puking, constant pooping and how we feed the baby. Jae and Mac have learned a lot about the body over the past few days. Enjoy the pictures. She is a doll in the pics and even cuter in person.

Jaelyn the producer - she just gets the camera and starts shooting and yes, she had brushed her teeth. Love ya, Jae!!

She's Here!!!!!

Karlee Roundy is here. She was born 9-15-09 at 1:41am. She was 6lbs 11oz, 19.5 inches long. Little for our history. She was about 2 weeks early, but doing A-OK. She is so good. I am yet to hear her cry. She just starts sucking on her lips or hands when she gets hungry.
Pictures are on the way. Jaelyn and Mackay just met Karlee today. The hospital had a no kids under 14 policy because of the swine flu. They couldn't even come into the waiting room. Big time sucked - I missed my kiddos since I left for work Monday and never came home. Gotta run.

Is Summer Over? We're still having fun.

Mackay started preschool today. Actually just an open house to meet his teacher, Karla and 'check out' the school. Mackay was very impressed. He didn't want to leave. There are so many fun things to do at the school and there is a great 'playground'. School starts next Tuesday.
Jaelyn is playing soccer which she isn't overly thrilled about, but she loves to be social and be with friends, so in order to do that she has to play. Mackay is playing kickball on Uncle Jed's team (which Jed isn't thrilled about) . Mac is loving it. He loves to kick, run and eat treats. What else is there right. I love watching the kids faces when you say, "Hit the blue player with the ball".
Last weekend was the infamous Trout and Berry Celebration. This was the first year that the kids did the trout scramble. Mackay was pretty excited about it, but in the end, his mommy had to scoop the fish out for him. Same goes for Jae. I scooped the fish out for her on the grass, where it flipped around. I told her it was her job to 'bag it' and she did.
Free rides = long lines, even in a small town. I would rather pay per ride - even on my current budget.
This is the slide at Grandpa's pond. It IS as cool as it looks, or so Rog says. I haven't tried it, but everyone (especially the adults) seems to love it.

We are also preparing for the new addition that will be coming to our house in 2.5 weeks. I guess I have finally come to grips with it. Jae and Mac will be "bunking up" in Mac's bedroom for a few weeks, until the baby is sleeping better (the baby will sleep in Jaelyn's room since I can't sleep with a baby in my room). The kids have been thrilled with the bunk beds - thanks again Aunt Kelly (and Ian). The kids also had fun making applesauce for their new baby sister. Thanks G & G - We love you two!!!

Hurray for school!

Here is Jae on the first day of school. She took a stow-a-way to school with her.
This is the second day of school, but the first day riding the bus. There are about 30 kids at our bus stop and Jaelyn was the only one screaming and jumping up and down when she saw the bus coming. It was also black and white day.
There goes my girl -----------with her friends Caydee and Ella. Most of the kindergarten moms at the bus stop had teary eyes and I was just smiling and chuckling because of Jaelyn's excitement. Only 20 more years of putting kids on the bus every day. That is so crazy to think about. Roger and I have sure enjoyed life without the school commitment. Oh well, 'life marches on'.

10 years and a summer comes to an end.

10 years ago today, our little family got it's official start. I can't believe we are celebrating our 10th Anniversary. Some days it feels like we have been together for as long as I can remember (I am sure Roger feels this way), other days it feels like the last 10 years haven't even happened. Time is such a funny thing. I just looked through our wedding pictures. We looked so young. We had no idea what we were in for and how great our lives would be together. It is probably a good thing we didn't know or we would have gotten married even faster than we did. Now we are sending our oldest to kindergarten and expecting our third. Crazy! I can't imagine a better guy to go through the last 10 (actually 13) years with. He is still my best friend. I can't imagine life without him to keep me going. He makes me so happy, just by being who he is. We compliment each other so well - we are the definition of 'opposites attract'. Love you, babe! Here's to the next 10 years.

Jaelyn starts her first day of kindergarten today. A lot of Moms are shedding tears at this point, but she is so excited that I couldn't possibly be sad. She has been ready to go to kindergarten for over a year. She is absolutely going to love it. I just hope kindergarten is ready for Jaelyn.
Mackay makes his preschool debut in 2 weeks. I know the preschool isn't ready for Mackay, but ready or not - he's coming!

We have had a fun summer that has flown by. Since I spent the summer being pregnant, I have really appreciated the quick, and relatively mild (temp) summer we have had.
We made it to the pool -once- yes, I have got to be mother of the year. The Brigham pool was really fun though, we can't wait to go again next year.

We also had fun boating, camping, hiking and being with our families.

Jaelyn kept busy with swim and dance lessons. She will start soccer next week and Mackay will try out kickball. Bring on the Fall full of activities - 2 kids in school, 2 sports and a new baby.

Summer did make us all really tired. The kids loved 'camping' during nap time in the cool basement. This is how I found them one day.

We have lost a couple of things this summer including a job, a freezer full of meat and a DVR, but we haven't lost our minds (which is a little surprising). We are making a new start and I know that we are both excited for what the next 10 years will bring.
