The 'Catch Up' Game

It feels as though I am constantly playing the 'catch up' game now.  Wow.  Who would have ever thought we would have 4 kids.  Well, here we are.  Our newest edition is Erika Roundy.  She is now 2 months old.  Here are some photos of when she came home.  She has grown a lot and gotten rather chuncky.  She is a great baby.  She sleeps 10-12 hours a night.  What more could a mother ask for?  She also loves to be held.  She is smiling and cooing a lot.  Such a cutie.

Here are a few recent photos of Erika.

Mackay has been playing flag football.

Karlee has been taking dancing lessons with her best friend Mary Kate.

The weather has been wonderful.  The boys enjoyed hunting and the girls had fun at Fall Harvest Days.   Fun. Fun. Fun.

Wonderful can also mean.........SNOW!

We had a fun Halloween.  Rog had a great time scaring the trick or treaters.  We had heard that carving a pumpkin from the bottom was 'the way to go', so we tried it and as you can see, one thing led to another.

It's official.  Erika is a Roundy child.

We went to a spooky mini-golf course.

Karlee couldn't decide on 1 costume.  She was a fairy for her preschool party, Dorothy for our neighborhood Halloween party, Cinderella when she went to dancing and Minnie to trick-or-treat.  Crazy girl.

Yum.  Jaelyn has had a fun fall.  She is still reading a lot and as creative as can be.  She is looking forward to playing basketball and skiing the beav.
Praying for Snow and lots of it.

What is in a name? Ketchup and mustard.........

This post is for posterity, since journal writing doesn't happen very often.  Neither does blogging for that matter:).
We have been searching for a name for baby girl Roundy who is due to arrive in the next 6 weeks.  Each kiddo has their own idea.  This is the conversation in the car the other night.

I asked Karlee what she wanted to name our new baby.  She said, "Hot dog".  We laughed as it is the consistant answer that we get from her.  I explained to her that we couldn't name the baby after food and she responded in the cutest little voice, "But I love it."
She is set on hot dog, or baby Roundy.  Wow. It is pretty sad, so if anyone has suggestions, feel free to pass them along.

Mackay takes care of business!

Mackay has had a big week.  Mackay is a little on the nervous/timid side when it comes to trying new things which has been a big switch for his parents after their ‘no fear –Jaelyn’.   Mackay overcame a few of his fears in the past few days.   It all started on Tuesday when his Mom woke up and decided that since Mackay was out of school today, that she was going  to teach him how to ride his bike without training wheels.  It had been attempted many times before, and each time it only resulted in a lot of tears and Mackay not wanting to ride his bike with or without training wheels.   This time it took about an hour of screaming and crying and saying, “This is the worst day ever”,  (because I told him that it would be the best day ever).  With persistence by both,  Mackay and Mom, he eventually got it.   When he went to bed Tuesday night, he did say that it was the best day ever.   He has been on his bike for hours ever since.  Yea!!!!    See for yourself - Push play below incase you don't believe it:)

We have had this mini 4 wheeler for about 4 years.  Mackay has never wanted to drive it, and since it is so small it isn’t really practical for taking him for a ride.  As of now, he is a driver.  Go Mackay!

Mom was in ‘overcoming fear mode’ again tonight at dinner and remembered another thing that Mackay has been afraid of.  Swinging.   He feel out of a swing as a 2 year old and has never gotten in one since.  He usually sticks the the glider or the slide.  Tonight he looked like a swinging pro.  Proud, proud, proud of Mackay.   Who knows what is next for him……perhaps skydiving.   Baby steps, right?

Hey Jaleyn. This 'pink house' is a restaurant called The Old Pink House in Savannah, Georgia. We ate fried green tomatoes here. Soooo good. I thought of you the minute I saw it:).
