Cinderella. She has been wearing the dress for a month preparing for Halloween. When the word Halloween is mentioned she says 'rella' and starts spinning around. She loves "rella".
I was instructed to post pictures and so I am doing what I was told:). I am such a loser.... it
has been a year since my last blog post. My how the kids have grown!
Mackay was the perfect Harry Potter. He has been growing his hair out for months so he could look just like Harry. He pulled it off very, very well. Jaelyn made a great Hermione, messy hair and all.
Karlee and Erika are just dang cute. What else can a mother say?
Karlee Potter
Pumpkin carving. Who is the creeper?
We went to Hogle Zoo for Fall Recess.
Erika is growing way too fast! She is such a good girl. She just goes with the flow of our busy family life. Thanks goodness:)
It feels as though I am constantly playing the 'catch up' game now. Wow. Who would have ever thought we would have 4 kids. Well, here we are. Our newest edition is Erika Roundy. She is now 2 months old. Here are some photos of when she came home. She has grown a lot and gotten rather chuncky. She is a great baby. She sleeps 10-12 hours a night. What more could a mother ask for? She also loves to be held. She is smiling and cooing a lot. Such a cutie.
Karlee couldn't decide on 1 costume. She was a fairy for her preschool party, Dorothy for our neighborhood Halloween party, Cinderella when she went to dancing and Minnie to trick-or-treat. Crazy girl.
Yum. Jaelyn has had a fun fall. She is still reading a lot and as creative as can be. She is looking forward to playing basketball and skiing the beav.
This post is for posterity, since journal writing doesn't happen very often. Neither does blogging for that matter:).
We have been searching for a name for baby girl Roundy who is due to arrive in the next 6 weeks. Each kiddo has their own idea. This is the conversation in the car the other night.
I asked Karlee what she wanted to name our new baby. She said, "Hot dog". We laughed as it is the consistant answer that we get from her. I explained to her that we couldn't name the baby after food and she responded in the cutest little voice, "But I love it."
She is set on hot dog, or baby Roundy. Wow. It is pretty sad, so if anyone has suggestions, feel free to pass them along.
Mackay has had a big week. Mackay is a little on the nervous/timid side when it comes to trying new things which has been a big switch for his parents after their ‘no fear –Jaelyn’.Mackay overcame a few of his fears in the past few days.It all started on Tuesday when his Mom woke up and decided that since Mackay was out of school today, that she was going to teach him how to ride his bike without training wheels. It had been attempted many times before, and each time it only resulted in a lot of tears and Mackay not wanting to ride his bike with or without training wheels. This time it took about an hour of screaming and crying and saying, “This is the worst day ever”, (because I told him that it would be the best day ever). With persistence by both, Mackay and Mom, he eventually got it. When he went to bed Tuesday night, he did say that it was the best day ever.He has been on his bike for hours ever since.Yea!!!! See for yourself - Push play below incase you don't believe it:)
We have had this mini 4 wheeler for about 4 years. Mackay has never wanted to drive it, and since it is so small it isn’t really practical for taking him for a ride.As of now, he is a driver.Go Mackay!
Mom was in ‘overcoming fear mode’ again tonight at dinner and remembered another thing that Mackay has been afraid of. Swinging. He feel out of a swing as a 2 year old and has never gotten in one since. He usually sticks the the glider or the slide. Tonight he looked like a swinging pro.Proud, proud, proud of Mackay.Who knows what is next for him……perhaps skydiving. Baby steps, right?
We went kayaking in a salt water marsh in South Carolina. Random, huh????? That's just the way we roll:)
Hey Jaleyn. This 'pink house' is a restaurant called The Old Pink House in Savannah, Georgia. We ate fried green tomatoes here. Soooo good. I thought of you the minute I saw it:).
Hey Mackay. Check out this jelly fish.
Hilton Head Lighthouse
More cool pics when we get home........Love you Kiddos. See you soon!!!!
I always tell myself that I am going to write down the funny things that my kids say. Usually I forget what they said before I get to writing it down. Early Alzheimer's, I guess:) Anyway, Jaelyn and I went into the restroom at a restaurant in town. It was a pretty gross one, (no I'm not going to tell you which restaurant, only the fact that it has been around forever and we love the food so we will deal with the yucky bathroom). Jaelyn goes into a stall and I just stand by the sink to wait for her. This is what I hear her saying to herself, "Breath through your mouth, Jaelyn. Jaelyn breath through your mouth." Not sure who taught her to do that, but I got a really good laugh out of it.
We made the best of all the freaking snow! This started out as a snowman and ended up as a bunny. A huge one! Honestly, it never stopped snowing Thursday through Saturday night. We did enjoy the first part of the week by going to SLC. Rog had a test to take, so the kids and I checked out Discovery Gateway and Hogle Zoo. We stayed over night, and the kids enjoyed swimming in the hotel pool. Little did we know that we were coming home to the arctic. Jaelyn has been humming Christmas songs, which cute and irritating all at the same time:)
Jaelyn and Mackay both loved ice skating. They are begging to go back tomorrow. Karlee played on the ice and Roger pulled her around in a sled. It took me back to when I was a kid skating at the rink. Dang, that seems like a long time ago. Such a cool view of the temple.
